Videocon Reportedly Considering Semiconductor, LCD Complex near Mumbai

According to India's Hindu Business Line, Indian consumer electronics maker Videocon plans to build a semiconductor and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) complex near Mumbai. Local government approval for the project is still pending. Videocon plans to invest approximately US$2 billion into this new complex, which will reportedly have a size of 200 hectares. The company expects to eventually recruit approximately 10,000 employees for the complex, according to the same report. Further details of this project were not yet known.
